All about Charente

The Charente département has been popular with expats for many years, with it's rolling countryside, rural living and close proximity to the Dordogne. Much of the area's economy is driven by Cognac and Tourism while the capital of Angoulême is synonymous with Bande dessinée (comic strip art) hosting an annual international festival.
